Welcome

We couldn’t dream of a more perfect place to start our lives together than in Anguilla. It is truly a magical place and we recommend staying 4 or 5 days (longer if you can!). We’re planning plenty of fun for you throughout the long weekend so get ready to pop lots of champagne and drink all the rum punches (the island drink)!

See you in Anguilla!
-Ingrid & Jake

The Couple

Ingrid & Jake

Ingrid and Jake first met in Austin while getting their MBA at McCombs. For months, he pestered his best girlfriends, Erika and Renee, to put in a good word and lay the groundwork. After some annoying persistence, he finally got Ingrid’s number and convinced her to go on a date with him at the Roosevelt Room in May of 2021. Suffice to say, the rest was history.

After a few more dates across town to Uchi and UT baseball games, and a memorable Summer trip up to Minocqua, WI, they quickly fell in love. Ingrid made the sacrifice to re-recruit for a job in the Fall in order to follow Jake to Houston, and they moved-in together shortly thereafter. It was then that Ingrid pondered whether or not she had made a mistake, having to pick up his little “Jake Piles” and other messes that he made everywhere he went. Luckily, he was able to counter that and charm her with his selflessness, loyalty, and love for cheese. On the flip side, Jake had a tough time acquisiencing to her Wisconisms (saying bayg and maygazine) and her lack of movie quote knowledge, but loves her passion for life, inner and outer beauty, and devotion to family. Although Jake was hesitant to adopt her Cavapoos, he finally succumbed and the four of them now live happily together in Houston, TX.

After spending Jake’s memorable 30th Birthday down in Anguilla (thank you Dval for the rec), they decided to drag all of their favorite people down to the Caribbean for an unforgettable wedding weekend in paradise.

Travel

Wish you could teleport to the beach? Us, too, but the best way to get to Anguilla is either fly into Sint Maarten (SXM) and take a boat to the island of Anguilla or fly to Anguilla directly (AXA). We have outlined everything below and recommend booking travel and hotels ASAP, as availability & rates only increase as we get closer to the date. Please don’t be shy, email us directly at ingridandjakewedding@gmail.com with any questions.

Note: The main wedding activities take place the evening of Friday, April 5th – Sunday April 7th. If your schedule allows, we recommend flying in on Thursday or Friday and departing on Monday.

To help with coordination, once you have confirmed your flight/hotel, please Complete This Travel Survey

Flight

We recommend flying into either Princess Juliana International Airport Sint Maarten (SXM) or Anguilla (AXA).

They have recently added more flights to AXA on American Airlines and United. If you are flying Delta, you will need to fly into SXM.

If you arrive in Sint Maarten, you can either take a shared boat, public ferry, or regional flight to get to the island of Anguilla (See ‘Boat’ Section for a breakdown of your options).

If you have questions about flights, please email us at ingridandjakewedding@gmail.com
Find Flights

Boat

When you arrive in Sint Maarten, you can either take a shared boat, public ferry, or regional flight to get to the island of Anguilla. We recommend either the shared boat option as it’s a super fun 25 min ride as you explore the Caribbean Sea or the 10 min regional flight (if you are okay with small planes).

TRAVEL OPTIONS FROM SXM TO ANGUILLA:

OPTION 1: BOAT (RECOMMENDED)
- Boat Company Name: Calypso Charters Anguilla
- Group Discount Rate: $90/person (roundtrip)
- To take advantage of the special group rate, click on the link and use promo code: JakeandIngrid
- Calypso Charters operates out of the Sint Maarten Ferry Terminal, located just across from SXM Airport. You’ll have ground transportation between the airport and dock included in your fare

OPTION 2: PUBLIC FERRY
- The most cost-efficient way to travel, but it isn’t always the most convenient
- The ferry leaves from the port of Marigot on Sint Martin (the French side of the island), while SXM Airport is on Sint Maarten (the Dutch side). There’s no physical border or customs checkpoint between the two sides. However, you must leave the airport (which requires going through immigration) and take a cab to get to the ferry port, which costs you time and $$
- The ferry takes about 25 minutes and departs approximately every 45 minutes from 8:15am-7pm. The return from Anguilla runs from 7:30am-6:15pm.
- Cost: $20/person one-way + taxi ride between the airport and Marigot costs around $20 for two passengers

OPTION 3: REGIONAL FLIGHT
- Flights between St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana Airport (SXM) and Anguilla Clayton J. Lloyd Airport (AXA) are offered by Anguilla Air Services. This is the world’s shortest international flight, with a flight time of only 10 minutes. But the real timesaver is that you don’t need to clear immigration upon your initial arrival at SXM
- Anguilla Air Services times its flights to align with the schedules of the major carriers.
Cost: Round-trip adult fares are ~$240

Taxi/Car

Once you arrive on the island of Anguilla, you will take a short ride to your hotel accommodations. We recommend either pre-arranging a short taxi (information below) or coordinating with the hotel directly (usually most costly than a taxi).

TAXI INFORMATION
- If you need a Taxi, pre-arranging is recommended. We recommend Preston Hughes for the best rates.
- T: +1 264-235-6888, E: prestonhughes5@hotmail.com
- Note: Your resort/villa can also assist you with making transportation arrangements!

RENT A CAR INFORMATION
- Renting a car can be the best way to experience everything if you plan to leave the resort multiple times.
- Car Rental Options: Wendell Connor Auto Rentals, Island Car Rental, or Andy’s Rentals

SHUTTLE INFORMATION
- For our wedding ceremony and reception on April 6, 2024, transportation will be provided from Aurora and Turtle’s Nest Resort. Pick-up times and drop off times will be coordinated as the date approaches. More communication to follow.

We are including the three accommodations that we will be providing shuttle service to/from the day of our wedding, but feel free to stay wherever you are most comfortable. Please note that our welcome party and wedding will be held at the Four Seasons and the bride and groom will be staying here. We recommend booking travel and hotels ASAP, as availability & rates only increase as we get closer to the date! Shopping: Seaspray Boutique

The ValleyAnguilla+1 264-235-1650Painted pretty pastels, Pam’s souvenir and smoothie shop is worth the stop.

Originally from Wisconsin, Pam swapped snowy winters for warm Caribbean waters many years ago. She sailed the Caribbean for 9 years, working on board as a nurse. After nearly a decade of stepping foot on every Caribbean island, Pam was ready to settle back down on land. Of all the different islands, Anguilla called to her the loudest. It soon became her home.

Open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm.

Excursion: The Arch

Shoal Bay WestAnguillaAnguilla’s arch is a remarkable sight. It is located on the island’s far western end. Here, vibrantly yellow and red crumbling cliff face meets sparkling-blue water. The arch is nestled along that stretch of cliff-side coast.

Boat Required.

Meads Bay

Located on the western end of Anguilla, Meads Bay is beloved for its silky-smooth sand, aquamarine waters and gorgeous views. Plus, recent visitors said this beach is never as crowded as Shoal Bay East, and there are many places to eat.

If you are staying at the Four Seasons or Turtles Nest, this is the main beach you will be on!

Sandy Island

Join us on Sunday to spend the day at Sandy Island! The water is crystal clear, the sand is super soft, and the grilled lobster is to die for! Oh and there will be lots of rum punches served!

Sandy Island is a small cay off Sandy Ground beach in Anguilla. It is quite possibly the most beautiful place one will ever visit. A popular off island getaway, Sandy Island offers visitors a sensational tropical experience. It’s far away enough for that quintessential Robinson Crusoe feeling, yet close enough to stay connected to the mainland. The Restaurant opens daily serving fresh seafood and grilled meats, and the bar is fully stocked with ice cold beers and spirits from around the world.

Shoal Bay East

Anguilla has approximately 35 beaches, but the most popular one is Shoal Bay East. This northern shore has long entertained daytrippers from St. Martin-St. Maarten, so there are plenty of bars and restaurants, plus rental equipment for snorkeling, parasailing and scuba diving.

Recent visitors say that a trip to this beach is an absolute must-see, and recommend renting a few snorkels and making a day of it.

Just so you know when locals say Shoal Bay, they’re referring to this beach rather than Shoal Bay West on the other side of Anguilla.

Rendezvous Bay

This 2-mile slice of paradise may be reason enough to visit Anguilla. With calm enough waters for even the least confident swimmers and the mellow sounds of Dune Preserve in the background, Rendezvous is an idyllic retreat for vacationers looking to escape Shoal Bay East’s hustle and tourist bustle.

Rendezvous is free to enter and easy to enjoy any day of the week. But if you really want to get away from it all, avoid the beach on Sunday afternoons and Tuesday through Sunday evenings, when crowds gather for Dune Preserve’s live music.

Little Bay

For a memorable beach experience, sneak away to Little Bay, a cove carved into western Anguilla. Couples particularly enjoy snorkeling and swimming in the aquamarine water there, especially in the morning or in the late afternoon. Recent visitors spotted sea turtles and a variety of birds.

The only way to get to this hidden cove is by boat: Once you get to Crocus Bay, look for a man named Calvin – he sets up camp under a mahogany tree, and he can also be reached by phone: 1 (264) 772-1332. Calvin will take you to and from Little Bay for a round-trip fee of $15 per person.

Prickley Pear Cay

Six miles north of Anguilla lies an unspoiled piece of paradise, Prickly Pear. One of Anguilla’s offshore cays, Prickly Pear offers the best of both worlds…Untouched, natural beauty and A terrific restaurant and bar.
